Sports Day at BI
On 13th October 2010, Bosco Institute celebrated its sports day in an informal way with great joy and participation from all the students and the faculty members. Taking a break from the studies and the tight schedule of the institute, everybody enjoyed the day as best as possible. Tirtha Prasad Saikia, the sports secretary of BASIC (Bosconian Association of Social and Intellectual change) welcomed everybody to the games and wished luck to all the players for the day. In his inaugural address, Fr. Mathew C. Paul, Asst. Director and Student Counsellor, stated that players should learn from each game and also should maintain its discipline instead focusing only on winning and losing, leading to equality and unity among the participants. The students were divided into two houses named ‘Attitude’ and ‘Reflection’ Different gmaes like Volleyball, Badminton, Square ball, Basketball and Football were played throughout the day between the houses. Both boys and girls participated actively in all the events. The involvement of the faculty members encouraged the students very much. The day ended at 5.00 pm with everyone tired but happy and looking forward to the Puja break. (reported by Tirtha Prasad Saikia)
